Introducing the Axis Drive™

Once in every few decades something new challenges the way we think, for the first time a new product is available that delivers all the advantages of an outboard or sterndrive but with none of the inherent disadvantages.

Seven years of development and collaboration with major worldwide engineering companies including Nissan, Cosworth Racing, Xtrac gears and Ilmor has resulted in a revolutionary propulsion system.

Redefining Marine Propulsion

From the outset the brief was to design and produce a propulsion system without compromise. Moving on from the tried and tested outdrives and outboards the Caudwell engineers have applied exceptional design skills to redefine propulsion systems for small to medium craft.

The unique mid-section gearbox is the key to the design, enabling transmission of power smoothly and efficiently from the engine directly to the propeller without the need for universal joints. Gear engagement is light and positive and vibration is reduced to a minimum. No UJ and bellows means less maintenance and much reduced service costs. Power trim, tilt and steering rams are all built inside the transom flange eliminating external hoses and rams and another service weak point.

Intelligent Architecture

Running through the Axis Drive™ is a seamless integration of intelligent architecture, from the fully electronic controlled state of the art Nissan Infinity engine with variable valve timing through to the Caudwell Marine control binnacle which provides total control of the Axis Drive™ including trim and tilt and engine synchronisation.

Ease of Installation

The unique 45° transom angle and engine inclination reduces engine intrusion into cockpit space giving a significant increase in deck area. The Axis Drive™ is supplied as a complete assembly and installs through the transom cut out in a fraction of the time taken for a conventional sterndrive assembly.

The uncompromising approach to design excellence and testing combined with the use of the very best materials such as cast surgical stainless steel for the Axis Drive™ and jacketed stainless steel exhaust manifolds enables Caudwell Marine to provide what we believe to be an industry leading warranty package and an unrivalled product support pledge.......

300TTDi - V6 Diesel 270hp* (Turbocharged & After Cooled) available August 2010
350SCi - V6 Petrol 350hp* (Supercharged & After Cooled) available July 2010
350SCi - V8 Petrol 450hp* (Supercharged & After Cooled) available September 2010
