Dramatic is the only word that even comes close to describing the performance of Arcturus Marine's TRAC Digital Stabilizer system compared to any first generation stabilizer. Other stabilizer products provide some degree of "roll dampening" but the TRAC virtually eliminates roll altogether!

Fast Acting

Solid state inertial sensors feed the TRAC's control processor with vessel roll and heel angle data in real time. Fin angle of attack is adjusted over 200 times per second to create roll countering lift the instant it is detected.

"In stabilization, speed is the key. You must stop roll before it starts otherwise you end up fighting the vessel's momentum as well as the forces of the sea, and that's a losing battle. The lightning fast reaction time of the TRAC processor is key to its premium performance."

Computer Designed

The TRAC fin was computer designed from scratch by a nationally recognized hydrodynamics design team. The TRAC fin chord shape was optimized to create maximum lift without cavitation at typical cruising speeds. But to give the TRAC fin the lift needed to provide absolute stabilizing performance, a "winglet" was designed and added to the tip of the fin. The winglet provides a substantial increase in lift while reducing drag at the same time.

"Compared to an airplane wing, a traditional stabilizer fin looses a measurable amount of lift out at the tip as water on the high pressure side wraps around the tip to the low pressure side. The phenomenon also creates what is called a "wing tip vortex" which is a major component of drag. The winglet provides a barrier to high pressure "wraparound" thus increasing lift and reducing drag at the same time."

TRAC STAR

TRAC STAR is an enhancement of the standard TRAC stabiliser system that will significantly reduce vessel roll while anchored, moored or drifting. Normally powered by an additional AC or generator driven hydraulic pump the system provides improved levels of onboard safety and comfort when the main engines are not operating. With TRAC STAR upgrade the TRAC digital stabiliser system provides improved vessel stability from zero speed to maximum boat speed.

Touch Screen Commands

The pilothouse panel is a backlit LCD with a touch screen for command entry. On / Off control is as simple as pressing a button on the screen. There are no special adjustments required for different sea states. The TRAC system automatically adjusts to ANY sea state for maximum stabilization.

Range to Suit Almost All Boats

Actuator and fin size combinations are available for boats from 14.5mt (48ft) upwards, depending on hull form and speed. Combined TRAC stabiliser and thruster with integrated hydraulics are the preferred choice on the world's largest yacht builders and for super yachts we can offer multi fin systems.

New from Arcturus Marine is the inTRAC system providing roll stabilisation and trim control for high speed vessels. inTRAC actuators are transom mounted fully active hydraulically operated interceptor blades. The blade's intrusion creates lift and depending on controller configuration can be used to reduce roll or pitch.
