Marine Services Team Leader (Engines and Drives)
Golden Arrow Marine has a vacancy for a full time experienced Service Team Leader to lead and develop the dynamic team at our Poole branch.

The Service Manager, reporting to the Branch Manager, provides the first line of communication with the customer, therefore a very high standard of customer service and knowledge of customer expectations is essential. They will have a strong customer focus and preferably knowledge of marine engines & equipment supported by excellent computer and communication skills. They carry out a wide range of service department duties, whilst prioritising their workload to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

The Service Manager role includes taking enquiries for service and repair works, providing price and quotation, updates on work progress and emergent work, raising of job cards and purchase orders, following job through to invoice stage and taking payment and debt collecting. There is also an element of providing technical advice and support to customers. The Service Manager leads allocation of jobs to engineers and work schedule diary upkeep, they also provide support in respect of business systems including data input such as time sheets and document control whilst highlighting and addressing any day-to-day issues with the Branch Manager. Marine industry experience and marine engineering back ground with the ability to converse at a technical level with customers and colleagues will be beneficial.

We are looking for a friendly, confident and capable individual who can deal with all types of customers under pressure and remain professional at all times. Working consistently to quality procedures, methodical and calm are qualities required to succeed in this role. Service Advisor experience from marine or similar environment such as automotive is required.

Parts Advisor
Golden Arrow Marine has a vacancy for a Parts Sales Advisor with engine parts and accessories knowledge plus retail and trade sales experience. You will be based in the Poole branch.

We are a specialist marine power, systems and equipment supplier. As part of the Salterns Marina Ltd group we have branches in Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton and Swanwick.

This position is a front line customer service role with a focus on day to day parts sales activities, stock control and stores administration. Dealing with parts enquiries from the general public, trade, appointed dealers and internal workshop. There is a a further opportunity to develop within this role into supporting and eventually leading our on-line parts business.

To be successful ideally you will have a proven track record in engine and equipment parts sales for the marine industry or similar such as automotive. It would be preferable to have product knowledge of the brands we represent, however this is not essential as training will be provided. You must have a desire to deliver excellent customer service at all times and be able to work under pressure individually and as part of a team. You will need to cope with multiple enquiries by phone, email and face to face, meeting deadlines and keeping customers informed at all times.

The position encompasses all aspects of parts sales and stores from identification of part based on customer information, sales and invoicing, parts ordering, stock control, stores housekeeping, stock taking, supply of parts to the workshop, packing and dispatch, receipting of goods and parts deliveries.

A high level of computer literacy is essential and you must be able to adapt to new computer systems quickly.

The roll includes vital administration duties, you must comply with company procedures, have good attention to detail, be a good communicator, team player and computer literate.

Salary dependent of experience .

Marine Technician

Golden Arrow Marine has vacancies for an experienced marine technician to work mainly in our Poole branches and the areas they support.

We have opportunities for marine technicians with experience of petrol and ideally diesel outboards, small inboards and systems such as hydraulics and electrical for leisure and commercial craft in the power range of 10hp to 450hp.

Ideally qualified with City & Guilds Level 3 similar marine engineering and preferably recently attended training courses at leading manufacturers.

Familiarity with digital diagnostics is a benefit as is experience of propulsion systems including gearbox, sterndrive and ideally outboard engines. Knowledge of engine electrics and control systems is also required.

Work includes routine service, diagnostic, commissioning, repair, installation and full workshop overhaul.

You must work to the highest standards unsupervised and have excellent customer service skills. The majority of our work is along the South Coast, but you must be able to travel throughout the UK when required. A company van with fuel is provided as part of the package.

The Service Advisor, reporting to the Service Manager, provides the first line of communication with the customer, therefore a very high standard of customer service and knowledge of customer expectations is essential. To be successful in this role you must have a strong customer focus and preferably knowledge of engines & marine equipment or similar experience such as automotive industry, you must also have excellent computer and communication skills. You will carry out a wide range of service department duties, including administration whilst prioritising workload to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

The Service Advisor role includes taking enquiries for service and repair works, providing price and quotation, updates on work progress and emergent work, following jobs through to completion. The Service Advisor assists the Service Manager in allocation of jobs to engineers and work schedule upkeep, in the absence of the Service Manager they are the main point of contact.

They are also responsible for administration support carrying out tasks including phone answering, greeting customers, raising of job cards, invoicing, entering engineers time sheets, statistical data, petty cash control, general administration.

Working consistently to quality procedures, methodical and calm are qualities required to succeed in this role. Service Advisor experience from marine or automotive environment is required.
