Introducing our Portsmouth Branch!

We’re showcasing this branch a little differently today – as we introduce the Portsmouth branch to you, we’re also going to be introducing you to the people behind all the hard work that comes from Golden Arrow Marine in Portsmouth.

Situated within the busy Port Solent marina, this dedicated marine engineering facility with fully factory trained engineers is a Volvo Penta Centre complete with showroom displaying the latest from Honda outboards and Honwave dinghies, Volvo Penta engines and extensive marine products.

Golden Arrow Marine are committed to recruiting and retaining talented marine engineers.  Our Portsmouth Branch has an onsite workshop and engineers who work across the full range of products for both our leisure and commercial customers.

The engineering workshop and mobile engineers provide the highest level of service, repair and aftercare solutions. UK mail order and Export sales for all products.

Introducing our Portsmouth Team

Firstly we have the Branch Manager – Dave Atkinson. Dave has been with Golden Arrow Marine for 16 years and keeps things running smoothly at the Portsmouth Branch. He started at our Southampton branch initially and then headed up the Poole Branch – however he’s now been working in Port Solent for 7 years. Dave has a few favourite marinas however his top three rank as Port Poole Marina, then Alton Marina and finally Port Solent. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing for pleasure on his Merry Fisher 580 and loves spending time on Calshot River too.

Dave shared his top tips for new boaters with us: “Always ensure you’ve completed a VHS course and have certified life jackets. The Operator of the boat should also always have the kill cord on them at all times.”

Next, we have our three Engineers who work great as a team and solo too.

Tim has worked with Volvo Penta for 37 years, back since 1988 when Port Solent first opened. Tim is definitely considered as part of the furniture now and has worked from the same workshop since the beginning of his 37 years working with Volvo Penta parts. Tim also adds to the team’s coverage by being the main contact to be sent overseas, where he flies Volvo Penta products internationally to deliver or install on Super Yachts. His favourite marina is Meliá Palma Marina in Spain.

Andy has worked for Golden Arrow Marine for 2 years and when needed, is able to expand the team’s coverage by visiting customers in the Gosport Region also.

Barry has worked for Golden Arrow Marine for 3 years and works mainly on Volvo Penta Transmission. Also able to work with Torqeedo engines and Honda Marine products, Barry’s a great Engineer who brings a lot to the team. Barry’s favourite marina is Sparkes Marina.

Matthew is a Parts Manager who has great knowledge in less obsolete parts. He has worked for Golden Arrow Marine for 5 years and particularly likes to focus on Honda Marine products.

Lewis is the freshest of the team! He is a Parts Specialist who has been with Golden Arrow Marine for only 3 months however came from working in the motor trade. He works both in the office and within the workshop and mainly likes to focus on offering top selling products like Service kits and likes to help customers with their Honda Marine parts too. His favourite Marina, when asked, was Port Solent.

And lastly but not least, Anne-Marie is an Admin Administrator at Golden Arrow Marine Portsmouth. She has worked for the company for three and a half years. She is the face of the sales and welcomes all customers with a friendly face and a great ‘meet and greet’ attitude. Anne-Marie particularly loves the Marina and boating life while having an interest in Motor-sports boats.
