Outboard motors are fixed to the stern of a boat and are external to the boats hull. Typically they are smaller and less powerful than an inboard engine but are a self-contained unit that includes engine, gearbox and propeller or jet drive. They are the most common motorised method of propelling smaller watercraft. As well as providing propulsion, outboards provide steering control, as they are designed to pivot over their mountings and thus control the direction of thrust. Unlike inboard motors, outboard motors can be easily removed for storage or repairs. We provide sales and service for Honda Marine and YAMAHA outboard engines.
